World famous breakfast chefs at the Elks Lodge will get your weekend off to a delicious start with all proceeds going to Circles. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and, really, who are we to argue with "they?" So plan on spending your morning at 1802 West 26th in Joplin, have a hearty breakfast and know you're helping Circles!

Once again the renowned breakfast chefs at the Elks Lodge will get your weekend off to a delicious start with all proceeds going to Circles. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well it's certainly the most important meal of OUR day today! So plan on spending your morning at 1802 West 26th in Joplin, have a hearty breakfast and know you're helping Circles!
We've been gifted with an extra Thursday in August so we'll put that day to good use with another Circles Family Fun Night! Games and prizes galore will be on hand this last Thursday in August and we'd love to see past classmates along with our current Circles classes. Go ahead and put August 30th on your calendar for the next Circles Family Fun Night!
SAVE THE DATE
A very special night as we honor the graduates of Circles Class 7. A special dinner, speakers and the graduation ceremony will all take place at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. We're so proud of the journey our graduates have taken and we want to share our success stories with the world!
World famous breakfast chefs at the Elks Lodge will get your weekend off to a delicious start with all proceeds going to JoMo Adventures (the stellar group of bicyclers responsible for the JoMo Break The Cycle Ride on June 16th). What that means is that proceeds will... circle back to Circles of Joplin! Plan on spending your morning at 1802 West 26th in Joplin, have a hearty breakfast and know you're helping Circles!
Your weekend will kick off with a fun family event on Saturday, April 7th at the Joplin Family Y's Healthy Kids Day!
This year, the event will be held INSIDE the Joplin Family Y due to potential inclement weather... And the accompanying 5k run has been cancelled.
The theme is "Awaken Summer Imagination" and Circles of Joplin will be there to join in on the fun! Drop by our booth and we'll be more than happy to answer your Circles-related questions. Plenty more information can be found here: http://joplinfamilyy.org/events/yearly/healthy-kids-day
Hope to see you there!
This week Leaders and Allies will have an opportunity to spend some time together reviewing Goals, Intentional Spending Plans (budgets) and other fun items.
Class 7 will continue their Leader Training.
If you're new to the "Leader/Ally" concept of Circles, tonight would be a great night to see it in action! Plus, you'll get in on a good old-fashioned hot dog bar provided by the Elks Club!
Circles board President Scott Vorhees is opening up his "No Excuses Gym" tonight for Class 7 (and because of Maundy Thursday, there's no programming for Classes 1 through 6). If you've never been to Scott's gym, go south on Main street in Joplin and watch for the river of perspiration. That should lead you to the right place! Or, should you choose to find the place through more traditional means, go to 5734 South Main, 1 mile from the Mercy roundabout. The No Excuses Gym is on the right side of the road. Scott says if you go to Reding's Mill bridge, you've gone too far south. And if you do that he'll make you drop and give him 20.
After a hearty baked potato bar provided by the Joplin Area Young Professionals Network Team, Circle Leaders will start reaching for the stars as they make their own Dream Boards!
This week we will break into small groups to work on building our Dream Boards. Please bring any photos, magazines, or other items you want to use to build your board.
We will provide poster boards, markers, and glue…the rest is up to you!
Class 7 will join Scott & Barbie to continue their training
It's the first Third Thursday of the year so Circles of Joplin will be "circulating" among the crowd in downtown Joplin. Come by our booth with all of your questions and we'll make sure you leave knowing more about Circles than when you arrived! Sound like a good deal? Then we'll see you there! Meanwhile, back at St. Paul's, it's Budget Workshop night along with fine dining thanks to the Joplin Kiwanis Club!
You know how your mother always said "breakfast is the most important meal of the day?" Well far be it from us to argue against Mom!
This Saturday January 6, the Joplin Elks Lodge will be hosting a benefit breakfast for JOMO Adventures, LLC. JOMO Adventures will be using the funds raised to support a one-day charity bicycle ride in June that will benefit Circles of Joplin.
Please join us at 1802 W 26th St., Joplin, MO from 8:00-10:00 and support Circles/JOMO Adventures. The breakfast is $8 with 100% of the proceed donated to our cause. And why not treat mom to breakfast while you're at it? After all, she was the one with all the great advice!
The annual Circles "Old Fashioned Christmas Party" was Thursday evening, December 28th at Scott Vorhees' "No Excuses" gym! Santa Vorhees gifted the Circles Leaders and Allies with the run of the place and a fantastic time was had by all! After a festive potluck dinner, the group enjoyed a white elephant gift exchange, charades, and a wild game of Pictionary (we're still not sure what Chandice Horine was drawing but some of the guesses included a porpoise and a fried egg). Everybody took a break so we could get a picture of some happy parents and children.
